Richard Shannon Draper is a longtime firefighter who most recently held responsibilities as fire chief in Red Wing, Minnesota. Overseeing 28 full-time personnel, Richard Shannon Draper overhauled training programs and worked to expand station services, while decreasing response times. He also guided the construction of a second fire station on time and within budget.
Since 2004, Richard Shannon Draper has served as a fire service instructor with Bucks County Community College. His contracted position involves overseeing accredited certification classes in areas such as firefighting and fire inspection. Over the years, he has conducted training across the globe in locations that range from Hungary to South Korea. Actively evaluating skills, while ensuring that the learning pace is appropriate, he has gained insight into next-generation techniques through his work with various fire departments.
He is a member of the National Fire Protection Agency and the International Association of Fire Chiefs. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys camping and upland hunting with his family in his free time.
